Markup by Attribute Version 2.0 Released

Version 2.0 is released! The internals of the plugin has been significantly rewritten, but the function and simplicity have been retained. Hopefully, I’ve enhanced the plugin without adding complication.

Addressing Specific Issues

Stratofangr asked that we be able to adjust the appearance of the markup, including changing the number of decimal points and changing the currency symbol and its placement. Done! This will change to some extent when I add internationalization. But it provides a solution today. Check out the new ‘settings’ page to make work.

Tiezkoz mentioned that the number of variations that can be created per run created issues. Also on the ‘settings’ page is the ability to adjust that number, and it defaults to the WooCommerce 50.

There was an issue that Nextech84 brought up where the markup in the options box does not match the markup in the description. While I was not able to recreate his problem exactly, it did uncover that the options markup was being calculated off the SALE price. That’s an issue and its fixed in version 2.0. Since that code was entirely reworked, I’m confident that we’ve fixed Nextech84’s issue as well. But version 2.0 does not automatically correct those option box values created in version 1.0. User Tmc1 mentioned that he didn’t care for the way Markup by Attribute overwrote variation descriptions. Neither did I. I doesn’t anymore — unless you ask it to. While fixing that, I found it necessary to wrap the markup description in <span> tags. This gives you an additional ability to go to ‘Additional CSS’ in the customize menu and control the description’s appearance via #mbainfo.

I know I’ve written a lot and the rest of the enhancements are all code improvements. So, suffice to say, the plugin is easier for me to maintain and debug now.
