• I am developing a new site that wants to look like Pinterest, with masonry/grid layout. But all of the themes I am looking out automatically pull from your Posts. We are not planning to have a post for every item we want placed in the grid. Some will simply be images that open to a larger version of themselves. Others might just be text that don’t link anywhere. Am I not understanding what a masonry grid is? Can anyone recommend a theme that allows me to easily add various elements to a grid? Also, each element needs to be able to have an anchor for easy linking from a sister site. Thanks!

  • Masonry grid is essentially layout for having items of different size (especially height) structured in a way that a longer height element on one row doesn’t make the entire row of that height, leaving a lot of empty white space. So it adjust, just like tiles on the walls.

You should look for masonry gallery plugin instead, I found one https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-masonry-gallery/

Thanks Ashfame for the link. Do you know of any Masonry plugins that also let you add a text box as an option in the layout? Or group an image and text box together as it adjusts in the masonry layout? (where the display looks like Pinterest) I would prefer to not have to put my text into my images because I want my text searchable. Thanks!

I suggest you look it up, try the ones you find to see works for you best.
