Mass Comment Moderation

  • Help!
    I have a blog which i fail to update more than once every few months and i never get the chance to clear my comment moderation list. Now it has about 3000 spam comments, and the comment mass moderation page wont even load!

    I need a way to mass clear the moderation list with 1 click, or to change the code of the mass moderation page to show only first 100 comments, then mass radio button selections for all… I can go direct to the database if neccessary but i would prefer to avoid this if possible…

  • Dis you Akismet Plugin Running? If yes the comment marked as spam should go to Akismet Spam automatically. You can also setting your Discussion Options as “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail” and “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” or maybe this plugins could help.

    thanks for the quick response.

    i have got akismet going, and it catches all the comments… and ive got those Discussion Options enabled, but i need to quickly clear my 3000+ comment moderation que without consistantly crashing my browser…

    Most likely you’ll just have to clear them from the database. But you could try increasing you php memory and timeout.

    true, but 3000 comments on one page… it will never work… ill just have to dump that part of the database manually
