  • Hi Ceffer,

Are you uploading an XLS or CSV file? If CSV, then try making it an XLS. If XLS, then there may be a naming or formatting issue with one of your columns.

At the following link is an example spreadsheet that can be used for import: https://etoilewebdesign.com/Screenshots/Sample_UltimateProductCatalogue_Import.xls. You could try using this as a template and adding in your data to it. Or, you could compare yours to this one to see if you have any formatting or naming issues.

I made sure it was .xls, tried to upload and the screen refreshes:
WordPress database error: [Query was empty] for each product in the spreadsheet and the page refreshes again with: File must be .csv, .xls, .xlsx

here is the file, can you take a look?

and see if im am formatting it right?

did you have a chance o look at my import file?

    Hi Ceffer,

It seems that the issue stems from the description. It is not suggestion to put HTML in the description. This is the reason for which a WordPress database error is being displayed.

We would suggest you to add custom fields and change their settings to be displayed in either views you would like them to appear in.

Let us know what you are trying to do design-wise and we will try to find a solution.

    Best regards,

Ok, did as you suggested, made custom fields, imported a test sheet, went well, however, the custom fields are not showing up on the product page?
also, import produces extra images in some products, almost like the image reference is staying in the database, even though a product has been deleted, then when readded, it produces 4 images instead of 2 as expected.
    Please advise.

Also, selected hide custom fields on side bar and they are still showing?

    Hi ceffer,

You need to set the “Searchable?” option to “No” if you don’t want your custom field to display in the sidebar. To display custom fields on the product page, you need to check the “Custom Fields” box for the “Product Page Elements (Additional Info)” setting in the “Basic” area of the “Options” tab.

When you import, the product should be assigned a new ID, which would mean it isn’t associated with the old ID in the database. Are the images duplicates, or four different images?

I have done this already, do i need to add them to the product page template to get them to show up?

also, how can i pm you my login so you can take a look at the setup?
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

The issue appears to be within the standard product page layout. Have you tried using our tabbed layout? It is our newest layout – responsive, customizable and modern looking. We suggest you try setting it at Options > Premium > Product Page Type with “Tabbed product page”.

In the meantime we will find a fix to the standard page. Perhaps, you will find a liking to our new layout at the same time. ??

    Best regards,
