Mass import with captions

I’ve seen this question asked a few times and no one ever seems to answer. I’m hoping someone can help me out ?? I have hundreds of photos over about 8 different galleries. Each photo has a caption. Right now all of the captions are in a text file for each gallery. I’m trying to find out if/how I can import a gallery and the captions. I can put the captions in an Excel file if necessary; I just don’t want to have to manually put all these captions will so many photos. Please tell me there’s a way to do this ??
