Mass user verification / purge

  • About 98% of my member accounts are bots that I want to purge. There are lots of discussions/tools to verify users on account creation. But is there a utility to mass email all users for an installation, to request that they login or otherwise refresh their interest in the site?

    To simplify the request, I guess I’m just looking for an easy way to email all registered members.

    After doing a couple of these blasts I’d like to remove accounts that haven’t had a login within the last 3 months – the assumption being that legitimate accounts will have a recent login. Of course some legit accounts will be lost but if they never login and never post comments, I don’t care if I don’t have an account for them either.

    So the follow-up there is, can we mass delete accounts that haven’t been used since a given date?
