MasterSlider not displaying

WP v4.1
MS v1.4.4

We had used CuteSlider on the old site with never any issues. Decided to go with MasterSlider for site migration as we have to move away from the WPMU install and CuteSlider will not be moving with this site.

Using shortcode on a static page set as the home page for https://halenalo.info which is a build site to be flipped to root domain when completed. We have a _very_ short turnover on this project and found MANY people are having the same issue.

This is a brand new install. Tested with all plugins to be used on site, then tried process of elimination of plugins, then tried on a totally different theme, and the parent theme. Attempted copying the slideshow, created a new one.

In all cases, the same error appears in the console:

As with similar posts:
Used shortcode in two ways (since the admin section shows both):
[masterslider id=”1″] and [masterslider id=1]
Changed caching settings (off and on then off again)
Changed asset loading (on all pages or only where used)
—– To note, should NOT have to have assets load on all pages if NOT being used!!!! bad bad implementation!!! —–

Still, nothing worked.

Short of ripping apart the source, would like to know if author has fixes, suggestions, or even will support the freebie-version. (Most people will not buy the Pro version if the freebie doesn’t work, eh?)
