Match users based on personal choises in their profile.

Hello, I hope this is the right forum, if not please accept my apologize.

I would like to know (ive done some research and havent been able to find my solution, maybe im using the wrong keywords) how can I make like a little plugin or search box to match users based on their choose.

Basically this is the plan. Have each user select what kind of food they like, for example, pizza, burgers, pasta, salads, and save this info in the DB.

Then maybe have like a search engine in which another user would look for a “buddie” depending on a selection of food. He would go to this page and select Pizza and Burgers.
Then as a result he would get the users that have chosen this as their favorite food.

Do you guys know of anything that could help me with this?
