• I’ve created a MaxGalleria gallery and added images to it. I’ve added the MaxGalleria block in the gutenberg editor. I’ve set the gallery to be the one I just created.

When I preview the draft/saved page…big nada. Nothing displays at all.

    What’s going on?

FYI, I’m a license holder. Also, the link to “seek MaxGalleria help on the www.ads-software.com site” in the MaxGalleria site is defined wrong; it simply links to itself, which isn’t too helpful.

    Mark,

Let’s find out how your site is configured. Can you go to the MaxGalleria Support page on your site. On that page you can copy the System Info text and paste it into an email and send it to support at maxfoundry.com and include ‘MaxGalleria Gutenburg Not Working’ in the subject line.

Thank you for sending the system information. On my test site, I’ve switch to using the Astra theme and activated the free version of Elementor to make it more like your site. But I still not able to reproduce this issue. You could try deactivating most of your plugins to see if that will allow the gallery to appear. If that works, then you can determine which plugin is preventing the gallery from displaying.

LOL! I disabled every single plug-in, simultaneously, except for MaxGalleria Pro and the problem is still there. No gallery is disabled, in either the draft/preview or the published view.

Is there some setting/choice I need to make in the gutenberg widget that maybe I’m failing to make? All I’m doing is selecting the MaxGalleria gallery I want displayed from the dropdown in the gutenberg editor.

Which Astra theme is your parent theme, the free or pro one?

    The Pro one

I don’t have the pro theme to test with. It is possible that it could be causing the issue.

I don’t think so. At least, when I changed the theme to the standard 2022 theme the problem still existed.

I’ll try to send you the debug.log file I just generated while testing the dummy page I created. It’s got a host of deprecated function call errors, but I’m not sure they apply to MaxGalleria.

The errors in the debug.log are not related to MaxGalleria.

Another way to debug this issue would be to setup a staging site with a fresh install of WordPress and MaxGalleria. Create a gallery and display it. Then add your theme and plugins to see if anything prevents it from displaying.

That seems like a lot of work to diagnose the problem. And why would the outcome be any different than deactivating all the plugins?

That is true, but I cannot think of anything else to do since this is not a common issue.
