Maximum Tags in Tag Cloud in my new Theme

  • i just finished my new wordpress theme and i have added a tag cloud to it:

    if you look at it, you can see that it goes out of the cloud image. so my question is – how do i set a maximum to the number of tags displayed?

    something like this maybe? but where do i place the number?
    <?php wp_tag_cloud($display_max) ?>
