    Hi, newbie here so hope you don’t mind the question (I did search for this answer first). We are hosted on SiteGround and they provide a set of WordPress themes.

    I wish to create up to 8 top level menus but when I load a template they appear to be limited to 3 top level menus only. The bitmap images of some of the themes seem to show more than 3 but when I go into the dashboard to setup menus it states that the theme only supports 3 menus. Is there a way to see how many menus the theme supports as installing them all may be a waste of time if there is some other limit?

    I think the confusion here is stemming from the use of the word “menu”.

    “Menu” here refers to the different menu containers or locations, and it seems your theme has three of these (eg one could be placed in the header, one in the footer, and one in the sidebar).

    But each “menu” can contain as many menu items as you want!

    So what you want to do is create the individual menu items inside the menu container — and you can certainly add as many menu items as you want!

    Just go to APPEARANCE => MENUS, add your menu items, and select one of the three menus (containers) that you want to attach the items to.
