The problem now is, that the “max-width” option of Shashin does only allow absolute values:

If I enter 150, it looks good on my smartphone, but bad on the desktop.

If I enter 600, it looks good on the desktop, but on smartphones the blog becomes impossible to read.

What can I do to display Photos responsively? Did I miss the solution? Please help!

(Imho, for the content section width of WordPress is relative to the screen size, the max-width-value of Shashin should be too.)

I’ll be releasing an update of Shashin soon that makes everything Shashin does responsive. It still has the max width setting for the theme (in pixels), but this will be used to determine which size photo to retrieve from Picasa (and to do the math if you want it to automatically determine a number of columns for a desired thumbnail size). Shashin will then scale the images as needed.

You can see it on my site – https://www.toppa.com/photos

I’m still working on getting the display in prettyPhoto to look better on mobile devices.
