Maxmind database: where it is stored?

    Hi,

    As Maxmind does not allow to include the database with external plugins, some questions now:

    1. how and when is the database refreshed?
    2. in which folder is the database stored?

    I want to be sure that this plugin is using up-to-date information and not some old Maxmind database that I have from 2019 in my uploads folder.

  • Hi.

    1) The plugin creates a cron and the Maxmind file is download monthly.
    2) It is in wp-content/uploads/geot_plugin/GeoLite2-City.mmdb

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply. So I have indeed a problem:
    1. I have no cronjob related to “geo”
    2. I have no folder “geot_plugin” in the uploads folder.

    I am using this plugin for a long time, but I haven’t verified for a long time if all is working fine.

    Also, I upgraded to WP5.5.3 the last days so I check all plugins now.

    I have plugin version 1.3.4.1.

    PS: debug mode shows me this what is wrong for my IP.

    OK fixed by disabling + enabling the plugin. The cronjob is now created and the database is downloaded in the folder.
