• Say it ain’t so. One of the reason I quit Joomla was the frustrations of word processors like TinyMCE and JCE thinking they are smarter than you. I have been embedding YouTube videos in my posts without any problem until he Gutenberg intro which forced me to install the Classic Editor and now it is stripping the code from within the iFrame. Is there a way I could tell Tiny MCE not to strip code without a plugin. Help!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey there jfambrini,

Apparently WordPress removes iframe html tags due to security reasons.

I know you said you did not want to add an additional plugin, but you might want to read this information: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/iframe/

Also, what are you adding to your website using the iframes? I as because sometimes (emphasize on sometimes), I see sites using iframe’s when a native solution may work better. If you share that detail, you may get even better responses from persons answering your question.

Thanks JD. I have embedding Youtube videos for the past few years without any problems in WordPress sites and this problem has only cropped up now when I turned on the Classic Editor.

I see. I have Class Editor installed on all of my client sites and have not run into any problems yet (knock on wood). I will test them one by one for compatibility with Gutenberg and eventually I will hopefully not need the Class Editor.

    Hope it works out!
