MEC’s RSS does not work properly

Hi,
I’m trying to use the MEC’s rss feed to announce my events automatically through email.
It can be done, but images don’t show up. I have installed a plugin that makes that the feature image appears in the feed, as this is an issue with WordPress, it seems.
Now it works for my general feed, but not for MEC’s feed yet. I have checked the feed on w3.org and it doesn’t validate:

Is this something you could fix on your side?
MEC’s version you use: 5.9.0
