Media can not find years and months

  • Several months ago the site was hacked and in May 2018 was restored.
    Since then, media files have been uploaded in July 2018 (2018/07)
    Media can only see and display the contents of July 2018…. HOWEVER
    Older uploaded files exist (eg. 2014, 2015, 2016 etc in various months)
    The individual pages are displaying the images and when I review the source code I can see …/2014/05/….(as an example).
    Using (cPanel) File manager I can see all the yearly folders and monthly subfolders under wp-content/uploads… All the data is there
    The closest Ive come to a solution is a post about the database “post_staus” field in the _posts table being set to draft. Mine all all “inherit”. ???
    How do I rebuild the index so that media can, once again, see all Years/Months rather than just 2018/07
