• With the latest update (version 2.8.9) to the Enhanced Media Library plugin, there are a few issues in the media library.

    1. The media categories element/widget is missing the “Add New Category” link.
    2. The categories display in a long list at the bottom of the WP Admin > Edit Media screen. Previous to 2.8.9 the categories displayed as expected in a scrollable, “Media Categories” widget/element.
    3. When you click to select or deselect any category in the category list, then click on Update, the new settings are not saved.

An update on this issue is that when I reverted back to the current version (2.8.9), the categories now show in two positions on the media edit screen: at the bottom of the page and in the sidebar.

    Hi,

Thank you for letting me know. The duplicate categories box in a single media edit page is a bug of the latest version 2.8.9. The update is coming. Not saving categories is the consequence of the same bug. Sorry for this.

The media categories element/widget is missing the “Add New Category” link.

This one is unclear. Do you mean the same image edit admin page?

    Best,

The media categories element/widget is missing the “Add New Category” link.

That can be ignored, since the link was missing from the duplicated category list/box.

I am having this issue as well and therefore cannot display media on the site where a category is needed. Is there an ETA on an update? My client has new classes beginning shortly and requires the media available. Just looking to calm him or find another solution. TIA!
