• Since upgrading to the new system, I have been unable to access my media files or load new media. The WordPress link at the bottom of the tslbooks.uk admin page feeds to www.ads-software.com. (One of my other sites is wordpress.com and does not have the same media problem.)

    I installed the Classic Editor plug-in which didn’t help and have since tried reinstalling version 5.0. I have also deactivated the Classic Editor with no luck.

    I’m now at the point of wanting to instal a back-up version of the site from before updating so that I can get new products and information onto my site, but thought I should contact the forum first.

    The issue is also impacting on the search function within a WooCommerce plug-in. I will contact WooCommerce once I can access my media files if the search issue persists.

    Please can you advise.
    Many thanks

  • Hello @gwaa

    Hope you’re doing well!

    Is the same issue happening with all plugins deactivated? If the issue persists, please ass following lines in the wp-config.php file:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    Make sure that you insert these lines above /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    Go to Media page to replicate the issue. This way all errors will be saved in the debug.log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

    Share the errors shown with the debug.log file.

    Please advise,

    Cheers,
    Nastia

    Hello Nastia
    Many thanks for getting back to me today. Much appreciated.

    It seems the Yoast plugin is causing the problem – who would have thought!
    Just grateful I didn’t have to go changing the wp-config.php file

    And as expected sorting out the media issue resolved the Woocommerce search one.

    Have a good day.
    and thanks again
    Anne
