• With Download Manager installed, when attempting to view any file in the media library, the file is downloaded instead of opening to view. I can force a view with another plugin but want back the ability to use a simple html code like <a href=“url”>View</a> which now downloads instead of viewing.

It would appear that the free version of Download Manager is the source of the glitch: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/open-document-in-new-tab-instead-downloading/? Tech support replies to this same question include: “Sorry, Custom templating only possible in WordPress Download Manager Pro” and “Please post your question in Pro-version support form.”

I’m a novice, but this does not seem like a custom templating solution. This feels like a glitch that needs fixing. I will certainly pay for a plugin to gain additional features, but I don’t feel comfortable paying for an upgrade to get back a standard function that the plugin takes away. Can you please provide the solution? Thanks in advance.
