• I just recently upgraded to the new version of WordPress (2.5) and really like it. The only problem I seem to be having is with the Media Gallery.

In my previous version of WordPress 2.3, I had about 400 images throughout the posts, they were uploaded through the WordPress interface not through FTP. But now that I have upgraded to WordPress 2.5 none of these images are showing up in the Media Gallery. When I look at the upload directory through FTP all the folders and images are still there but for some reason they are not being recognized by the Media Gallery.

Is there something that needs to be done in order for the new Media Gallery to recognize these images and add them to the Gallery?

One last note, If I upload new images they do show up in the Media Gallery and are put in the same folder as the other images.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • I have exactly the same problem. When I first updated my WordPress install to 2.5 everything seemed to be ok, and I could see all of my images in the Media Gallery. Then suddenly when ever I uploaded an image in 2.5 it was telling me that the database was out of date. I’ve sorted that now – it was the Replace WP-version plugin that was causing that particular problem but now my Media Gallery is empty!

Which is really annoying as I have some images that I use again and again! HELP!!
