Media Images not Displaying

  • I am able to upload images within WP but they can not be displayed. I know that they are there by poking through the file structure on the server (files are where they are supposed to be). wp-content\uploads\2009\10\ etc. The permissions on the folders are set at 755 and the images are 644. All I get is a black box with an X in the upper right corner if you try to view the images. Clicking reaveals a 404 error.

    Suggestions?

  • I’m having the same problem, but it’s on the admin page. I did a clean install, uninstalled, tried reinstalling and still the same problem. I changed the theme as well and none of the images that are included with the theme appear. I have no idea what is going on?

    I have the problem whether it is on the pages or on the admin pages. Can’t see any of the pictures in the media area. Tried updating etc. Currently using 2.8.6 but no luck.
