• Hello!

Recently, I’ve reworking files in order to

delete a theme that was causing malware on my website. However, now I’ve run into a new problem where no matter what, images won’t show in the library or on the posts themselves.

I’ve tried uploading new images and checking the files. New images are still blank yet are being uploaded to the files. I’ve done everything. I’ve uninstalled every plugin, I’ve reset to the default theme, I’ve updated file permissions to do 744/644, I’ve installed new plugins that should have fixed the problem and nothing has worked.

I suspect it may be something with changing from HTTP to HTTPS, yet when I installed a plugin that should fix it, again nothing changed. There’s over 500 photos saved and I really don’t want to manually go back and change everything to HTTPS, if it’s even possible!

Any advice on what to do?

  • If you have had a malware infection, you should actually delete the entire project and restore it from a clean backup. This is the only way to really get rid of potential risks.

Regarding your problem: show a link to the affected website and there to an image that you have uploaded but cannot be displayed.

Sorry to hear about your image display issue! It sounds frustrating. Have you checked your database to ensure all image URLs are updated to HTTPS? Sometimes, a database search and replace for HTTP to HTTPS can resolve such problems. If that doesn’t work, consider reaching out to your hosting support—they might have insights into any server-related issues causing the images not to display. Good luck!
