In that case, it’s not a one-star review that will help anyone (including you), but participating in the Support Threads, looking for solutions.

Did you really create an account just to post that review? It seems so. Well, you should participate, ask questions, mention issues, and together, we can make everything better. Everyone would be happier too.

Trust me, I have been on those forums for far more than just one day.

I mean, I agree, but do you blame them? It did the opposite of what it said on the tin. Not everyone is a dev. Some people just need to run their site and want a tool to do the thing. Your reply is understandable but is going to read very poorly to anybody who hasn’t been in your shoes.

I prefer to be honest, and share with everyone what I really think ?? Being apologetic wouldn’t help anyone, on the contrary, it would be seen as if I made a mistake. I am really trying my best to make the plugin as solid as possible, and warn the users against the danger.

It’s important to remind people, and anybody who reads the reviews, to be careful, to read the instructions and value the work which was done for you for free. If it doesn’t work, kindly share your feedback.

Fact is, that might even be a fake review, ordered by another plugin. It’s a lot of work (to register and so on) to just come to www.ads-software.com to write a review, not even really formatted.

I was about to start using this plugin to try it out, but then i came here to read the reviews. I always begin reading the 1 star reviews, and then “move up the scale”.

I was really impressed with the answers by the author @tigroumeow! You might be doing a great job, you might be a top developer, but man you can’t handle criticism! If users give a 1 star review don’t insult them, call them incompetent and so on, just ask nicely what the problem was, and ask how they can help you make it better, so you can learn from their contributions and correct your mistakes (everyone makes mistakes – yes, even you, although you might think otherwise!). If a review is fake, other people will realize that and ignore the review, it’s not that hard and we are not all stupid!

Instead you reply with arrogance and even insult people, and say this is hard work and time consuming! Of course it is, but aren’t you selling a PRO version of this plugin and making money from it? The hours you mention you spend working on this and other plugins aren’t worth it? If not that’s your problem, use your time on something else.

Best of luck and success to you.

umm… YEAH? if i am in danger to lose my media files because the plugin is not working as intended, i sure as hell wanna know that, and this is what the reviews are for. i will not go digging in the issues section just to install a plugin.

    good to see this.

I detected copies of media files that came to life through multiple uploads. I couldn’t find out which document was referenced on my site and which wasn’t. So, I hoped the cleaner app would do that job. As it just moves clean-up files to the trash, I felt the risk of losing files was low. After applying the cleaner, I noticed that references to media files were pending now. This means that the app is far from perfect concerning the expected result. To conclude the story: I just restored the file in the trash bin to get back to the previous state, leaving my original problem unsolved. (BTW, If my washing machine wouldn’t properly clean my laundry, I would rate it down as well.)

If you use the cleaner carefully, you won’t lose your media files.
