• Hi all,

I have a multi-site install of wordpress, and have been editing my site https://www.adetaylor.co.uk

Today I noticed that all my media in one of my other MU sites (www.bristolportraits.com) has vanished. I have not edited this site at all in the last few months and it seemed to be working OK previously.

    This is what i see:

The image placeholders in the pages and posts
try to link to the file eg https://bristolportraits.com/files/logo-sm-header.jpg
    . But it doesn’t display.

When I go into the media library I can see the entry in the library but no image either as a thumbnail, or when I click to edit it.

Opening the actual folders via FTP all the images are sitting nicely in /httpdocs/wp-content/blogs.dir/3/files.

It’s like the site is now no longer looking for images in the right folder.

    Has anyone seen this before?

NB: I have not edited this site recently and have tried disabling all plugins to no success.

OK, fixed… somewhow I’d deleted a pretty key line from my .htaccess file:

    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L]
