Media Library Database

    Simply love all the work that is done on WordPress but I do have a serious gripe that no one wants to address. I assume too difficult or impossible.

    CAN WE PLEASE HAVE AN INBUILT FEATURE THAT REBUILDS THE MEDIA LIBRARY DATABASE.

    There are plenty of instances when you need to upload files via FTP or cPanel into existing dated folders (Hacked Site – Rebuild – Reinstall) and if you can’t update this to the database it is a real pain

    The media library is still a very clunky UI and it should be totally overhauled.
    Forget customiser for the moment – get back to a basic fix and upgrade of the worst feature of WordPress the Media Library

    This sounds more like a feature that would be added via a plugin rather than needing to be in core.

    I don’t know whether the add from server plugin copes with adding media files in date folders as I have not tried it, but the documentation seems to suggest that it might be able to do this so might be worth trying.
