• The media is in the correct directory but not showing in the dashboard. Newly uploaded files are showing. I did all the fixes that I could find on the web: deactivated plugins, checked .htaccess.php file, unchecked “organize my uploads into month,” change folder privileges to 777 (and change them back, I’m not a “sharing” person). Still no dice.

All the files are there but I can’t access them from the dashboard. Obviously the pointer to the files is pointing to outer space. The upload pointer is correct.

Most of the media files are showing up on the website but not all.

Maybe I should join the SETI program and scan for aliens?

Any clue how I can redirect the pointer so the dashboard media library shows up?

I would cross my fingers but one of the cockatoos might nip me for that! This is not the day to buy a lottery ticket ??

  • Did you maybe move the files into the folder with ftp instead of uploading them with the media uploader? If so, the media library doesn’t “know” that they are there. I’ve found the plugin Add from Server to be really useful when that’s the case.

If not, be sure to wear your aluminum foil hat to avoid the aliens brain beams.
