I loved the idea of organizing my folders, but I’m having an issue with not being able to access them through the default uploads. I’m not all that html/css savvy so I rely on themes to get me around. To upload my background image for my site, I only know how to do this by clicking the button…which automatically takes me to my WP default uploads folder. I was disappointed to realize I cannot access my new folders via this route, unless of course I’m not setting something up correctly.
    Please advise,
    ~Avyi

  • Hi

The uploads folder is the basis for the new folders you create with Media Library Folders. You no longer need to use the standard Media Library to upload your images. After you have organsised and uploaded your images with Media Library Folders, you can maintain your pages via the normal way as you always did previously. All images and files uploaded with Media Library Folders are within the standard WordPress media.
If you have images in the old structure year\month, you can move them with Media Library Folders to the new folder structure you created. All the links are automatically updated

Trying to find a different way to explain.
This screenshot shows how my theme wants to set the background image.
    Change Background Image

These two screenshot shows that it opens the default media folder for WP…I have NO folders in this area, even though my Media Library folders ARE uploaded under “uploads”
    Window that opens for button

I would like to find a way to navigate to the image I want for my background image.
    Thanx again,
    ~Avyi

    avyi,

Your question comes up frequently and that is why we have address it in the FAQs and in the plugin’s Support page that you will find under Support in the Media Library Folders sub menu.

For inserting images and files into posts and pages you will have to use the existing Media Library. The ability to insert items from the Media Library Folders user interface is only available in Media Library Folders Pro. This does not mean you cannot insert files added to Media Library Folders into any WordPress posts or pages. Media Library Folders adds a folder user interface and file operations to the existing media library and it does not add a second media library. Since all the images are in the same media library there is no obstacle to inserting them anywhere WordPress allows media files to be inserted. There is just no folder tree available in the media library insert window for locating images in a particular folder. We chose to include the folder tree for inserting images in posts and page in the Pro version along with other features in order to fund the cost of providing free technical support and continued development of the plugin.

Gotcha…I did read that and got confused, so to make sure I’m not misunderstanding: If I purchase the Pro version I will be able to see my folder in the default WP media folder, right?
    Thanx again and apologies,
