media library not displaying with widgets that call for it

  • When I use widgets that call for the media library via a button, nothing happens. The button is depressed, but the media library to add pictures or other content doesn’t appear.

    Any suggestions?

    The couple of widgets that did this were:
    Weptile Image Slider Widget
    Image Rotator Widget

    The widgets work fine in the normal widget panel, but in page builder the buttons that are supposed to open the media library don’t work making these widgets useless for page builder.

    Any suggestions?

    The main problem is that these media library buttons use Javascript. It’s up to a widget to choose when to enqueue its JS. A lot of plugins aren’t enqueueing their scripts for Page Builder.

    I’ve just published an update to Page Builder (1.4) that fixes the issue by trying to trigger plugins and widgets to enqueue their scripts.

    I updated to 1.4 but no avail.

    Is there something that I can add to the plugin/widget scripts to fix the issue??

    Maybe that would be more practical than trying to do it from the page builder side.

    Which widget are you struggling with? The Visual Editor widget (Black Studio TinyMCE) has an Add Media button that works well in Page Builder. It’s one of our preferred ways to insert content from the Media Library.
