    Hi,
I just took on a website that had been hacked and getting to the end of the removal of the malware and security tightening. I’ve also replaced the WP Core this morning (minus wp-content and the wp-config.php) to get a clean slate.
One issue I’m still having though is that the Media Library is not showing me the images due to a 403.

I have turned off all plugins and installed+activated a standard theme and that didn’t fix it. I am behind CloudFlare and had that turned off for a bit to see and test.
I have WordFence installed as well as Headers Security Advanced & HSTS WP

I have used All In One Security to check the file permissions, but maybe I’m missing something?

I’d be grateful for some insights what I might have missed. Thanks ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @boxhamster,

    I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve checked the site home page and some product pages, showing the images loading well for the front end.

There is only one issue: the Media Library seems not to be showing the thumbnails.

To fix the issue, I’d like to suggest some workarounds that could help in this situation.
    1. Navigate to WordPress Admin Dashboard > Settings > Permalink > Click on Post name and click on Save changes
    2. Sometimes, the WordPress Media have a custom path define for media, so you can remove them and use the default media path from here: https://mrcolette.com/wp-admin/options-media.php
    3. In the case above, both steps will not be helpful in that case https://nitropack.io/blog/post/fix-wordpress-media-library-not-loading

Please try any of them and see how it goes.

    Thanks & Kind Regards,
    Imran Khan
