Media Library upload error – but uploads anyway

I have a weird quirk happening where after uploading an image from the media library in grid view, I get the pink Error box with the message “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later” The good news is that the upload does in fact work. I’ve isolated this issue to just trying to upload in the Media Library and only when viewing the grid view. Looking at the inspector, I see that uploading in the grid views runs “admin-ajax.php” whereas the list view does not. Another oddity is that this is only happening from my house. I’ve had 2 other folks log in to my admin from different locations and they could not recreate the error. This leads me to believe that it may have something to do with my less-than-desirable internet connectivity. Running a traceroute to my site’s server reveals consistent packet loss at hop 25.

So… has anyone else had this happen? Is it something I can fix? (besides moving to a new house…)
