Media Meta Robot question

Hi,

Under SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Type is Meta Robot for Media by default index or noindex? What does that section do? Does it prevent my images in the posts from being indexed seperately?

I have a problem where one of my posts isn’t getting indexed. Instead, the URL of an image in my post is indexed.
