media not working in 4.7.3

  • Since yesterday I have had many problems with 4.7.3. I have deleted all plugins and reactivated one at a time. I have changed themes. I have been emailing back and forth with my web host all day. No resolution.

    I can’t add media to my site–can’t upload an image and can’t use one from media library.

    My web host told me my IP address is getting blocked for too many connections and thought it was a plugin as there is nothing wrong with my wifi or computers.

    It is a media issue. Both plugins that no longer work correctly have media or php that I was trying to use.

    Need an update to 4.7.3.

  • I have solved this issue by switching off the MODsecurity in the cPanel.
    I had two problems actually:
    1. Add media button didn’t insert any media into editing area.
    2. Post update/publish returned 404 and didn’t save.
