Media permissions – unattached files

    I have a special user role that has permissions to upload files, and thus has the Media menu in their admin area. They can see the files attached to the files they have access to. They can upload files in this area too. But if they upload the files here they are “unattached” and thus the user cannot go back and edit or delete the file as it is hidden from view.

    They can only see items they upload if they do so through adding media on a page, whereby the media item then gets added to a page they have access to.

    Anything I can do to resolve this? Thanks!

    Does this issue occur for the users with post/page edit restrictions applied?
    It was updated already in the upcoming version 4.19:
    User with post/pages edit restrictions applied can see own unattached media library items in additions to the allowed posts attachments.

    It occurs with the permissions applies in my screenshot link in first post. The user does not have create post permissions is definitely one restriction. Hopefully that’s what you were asking about.

    I am a pro user so I may give the beta a try, but good to know a fix is coming. Thanks again!
