• Hi guys,

Error on uploading media (photo here) such as photos is still present on WP 3.5.1. I really don’t know the cause. But I’v experienced this few days after updating to WP 3.5.0.

Any easy steps to solve this? The WP 3.5 Master List is not for me, though.

The attached image showing error words is here.

Yeah, it is running on WP 3.5.1.

I think I can do the manual upgrade from 3.5 to 3.5.1

But these notes bugs and scares me:

NOTE – you should replace all the old WordPress files with the new ones in the wp-includes and wp-admin directories and sub-directories, and in the root directory (such as index.php, wp-login.php and so on). Don’t worry – your wp-config.php will be safe.

Does this note defines no. 4 and 5 instructions?:
    3. Delete the old wp-includes and wp-admin directories on your web host (through your FTP or shell access).
    4. Using FTP or your shell access, upload the new wp-includes and wp-admin directories to your web host, overwriting old files.

Be careful when you come to copying the wp-content directory. You should make sure that you only copy the files from inside this directory, rather than replacing your entire wp-content directory. This is where your themes and plugins live, so you will want to keep them. If you have customized the default or classic themes without renaming them, make sure not to overwrite those files, otherwise you will lose your changes. (Though you might want to compare them for new features or fixes..)

I got plugins, themes and index on wp-content. I’v downloaded the WP 3.5.1 from https://gadjade.com/wp-admin/update-core.php. Is this the one that is right?

Wait a second, didn’t you already upgrade to 3.5.1? If so, let’s see if your theme is the problem. Have you checked that your theme is updated to be compatible with WP3.5+ ?

Yup, already upgraded to 3.5.1.. So I can’t do the manual re-install/update now?

“This theme is compatible with the latest version of WordPress (version 3.5+).”

    From https://www.solostream.com/wordpress-themes/wp-clear/

are you on a shared host and is this an add-on domain, (not the primary)?

I’m having the same issue on hostgator with add-on domains.

    @core Data Reco

Not sure if I’m shared host, but I fully own my site with one domain only.

try navigating to settings, media, and check that the upload path is
    /wp-content/uploads.

you may have to make it
    wp-content/uploads

    @core

Checked it. I don’t have that settings of upload path. How can I check it? I’m on settings>media> (image size, uploading files, image carousel only)

then it is most likely set to the default.

are you on a shared host, or is this on it’s own cpanel?

    Thread Starter Jade Bryan Jardinico

    (@ovijade)

I think it is my own cpanel. Anyways I could check that?

    yourwebsite.com/cpanel?

check to see , with ftp or file browser (in cpanel)
that the /wp-content/uploads is set to 755 for all directories, including the year and month you are uploading to.

make sure your year and month exist under wp-content/uploads/2013/01/

    try uploading again.

    Thread Starter Jade Bryan Jardinico

    (@ovijade)

After checking all folders inside wp-content/upload are on 755 except for plugins which are 644.

There is 01 folder under 2013 folder. The 2012 and 2011 are set to 755 too.

So I think I don’t have any issue on this side?

I also faced with the same problem as topic starter.
When I upgraded from 3.4.2 to 3.5 sometimes when I uploading file with Add Media on create post page – have the same message and than admin panel crash. When using Media-Add New – all media uploaded OK.

I upgraded to 3.5.1 and now I get crash even when uploading with Media-Add New! Media files uploaded, but when finished – it’s crashed.

    WordPress hosted on Godaddy

I’d contact your ISP/Host and have them look at the server permissions. I had to have them make a change to the server side after going to 3.5.1

I see. It does apply to your shared website, too?
