Media Upload Freezing at Crunching

    We are having a problem with the media uploader. The site has been ‘live’ (in testing while the client adds content) for about a week. Up until yesterday everything has been working as expected. But now the media uploader has stopped working.

    Using the standard multi-file uploader, we can drag and drop / select a file. The upload bar will fill and ‘change’ to say ‘Crunching’, where it will freeze and not go any further. On reloading the media library, we can see the image has been inserted into the database and the image is present in the ‘Uploads’ folder. But, no resizing has happened and the image thumbnail doesn’t display.

    The website is in Turkish. The MySQL database encoding is utf8_unicode_ci. We have other WordPress sites installed on the same server, and we can create a completely fresh install and the media uploader will work fine. It is just this one site that is having problems.

    Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.
