MediaElement.js Media Player looks odd

The bug was fixed. Update to PowerPress 10.0.4 to correct the issue.

Nothing changed, the player looks the same. It’s been like this for years. My personal guess is the look is cached/written down somewhere, as I customized it when I used Podpress. It looks OK on my other blogs where I used Podress, tho.

There may be a conflict happening within your WordPress installation. Make sure core WordPress, all plugins, and your WordPress are up to date. This support document also has suggestions on how to diagnose conflicts within your WordPress installation:?

Everything is up to date, updates automatically and there are no outdated plugins.

Are you letting PowerPress automatically insert the audio player into your posts? Or are you using the PowerPress shortcode? If you’re using the shortcode, check any modifiers that may have been added to the shortcode to ensure they’re not broken.

I’m using [powerpress], nothing is added to the shortcode that I would know of. Curious thing, on the other sites I still keep using the old [display_podcast] shortcode taken over from Podpress and it displays correctly anyway.

Should I abandon hope?

If you temporarily switch to a stock WordPress theme like 2022, 2021, etc. does the media player display correctly under one of those themes? If it does, then your WordPress theme is likely modifying the media player and you should contact the developer of the theme for help.
