Medias: why no more title for the link of pictures in wp 3.9

Edited: It was wrong of me to say the ‘title’ attribute serves no purpose in an image element, but I understand it was because this attribute causes more problems for people with assistive technologies than good.

You can add any attribute you want back in with JavaScript, as you say it’s used in plugins therefore it should be incorporated in plugins.

similar to insert the text of the title picture in the box.

Now we must add the title directly into the html of the article, and it is quite penalizing ..

That sounds like a theme-specific limitation.

In that case you’re using a plugin for the lightbox? And so it should be the lightbox plugin’s author who’ll be adding these title attributes back in. The version of WordPress that removed the title attributes was out for quite some time in Beta, allowing plugin authors a lot of time to test whether their plugins stopped working. A maintained plugin would not break because of this WordPress update.
