Many of our meetings are not showing up. As you can see in the link, there is only one meeting showing up for Sunday. However, we have 28 Sunday meetings on the back end. Also, many of our meetings have changed locations. I uploaded our list with all of the correct information, but once we went live with the new website, much of the information changed. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I just looked at the link and a bunch of meetings showed up.

If you’re still seeing the issue on your computer, please try another browser/computer.

After I made this post, I started to fix individual meetings. Many meeting locations were incorrect. It seems that when I started to correct specific meetings, which seemed to default to the same location, all of the Sunday meetings started to appear.

I am not sure why, but quite a large amount of meeting addresses have changed to other states. But as I fix them individually it seems as though they have corrected the larger issue of meetings not showing up on the front end.

Meeting addresses do need to be geocoded by Google in order for them to less likely to have issues. Did you see any meeting entries for which the Update button was greyed out?

Are you still experiencing issues or can we close this ticket?

I am experiencing the same issue of meetings not showing up in the meeting guide app, the tech support there advised me that it appears to be a plugin issue, although it shows up fine on the website.

The meeting is Reeders listed in https://poconointergroupaa.org

The address is the same as what appears on the google map, I am unsure why this specific meeting isn’t working…

    (@tech2serve)

@noel4nopun, Are the other meetings at that location showing up in the Meeting Guide app?

    noel4nopun

    (@noel4nopun)

yes, only reeders and another meeting the johnson group, arent showing up in the meeting guide app, the rest are okay

    Plugin Author tech2serve

    (@tech2serve)

If they’re showing up on the front page, and you’re able to edit them, I really am not convinced the issue is with your website or the plugin.

Did you create your database from a csv file? Or, did you add each meeting individually?

I just went into the app and tried to compare the various meetings at this location. I don’t see any of the 10 meetings for that address showing up. Likewise with the two Johnsonville Group meetings. This is leading me to believe the issue is with the addresses themselves.

Looking at the address for Johnsonville Group, I may know why. You’re using “South Delaware Dr” but it appears it should be “North Delaware Dr”. This is probably an error with Google because I noticed when I entered Community Presbyterian Church, it says “S Delaware Dr” even though it shows the correct place. Trying changing the address to “N Delaware Dr” and see if that fixes things for that group.

I suspect a similar issue with the Reeders United Methodist Church. Try changing your city to be Reeders. If that doesn’t work, you can try using the Plus Code for the location: “2M97+M8 Reeders, Jackson Township, PA” (Don’t enter the quotes). I have had this work for at least one person.

To be clear, this appears to be an issue with Google maps. Please consider reporting both locations to them asking them to correct and confirm the right address.

[this is in regard to AA of course]

I have gone many rounds with the NYC folks over the past few months. I just learned something new: meetings for the mobile app are definitely “assigned” to sites. I always suspected this but here is a message that confirm it. I still don’t understand the implications of why this would keep meetings only a few miles away from “me” from showing up, but there you are.

    Hi Larry,

I fixed it on our end. The Akron Intergroup Council had the meetings and I reassigned these 3 to your office. They are now showing in the app. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have tried the suggestion and Reeders is still not showing up in the meeting app

I suggest a two-prong approach going forward. Please go back to GSO and ask them to confirm that Reeders AND Stroudsburg are both in your boundary area they have established for your reporting.

Second: In a little bit I’m going to release a bug fix for the 12-step-meeting-list. It will be version 3.4.22. I’d like to ask that you install that, then go back to the Reeders United Methodist Church and reenter the address for the location. I don’t have high hopes for this because the bug this update fixes was very specific, and we’re not actually seeing the same symptoms.

Also, have you asked Google to check this address and update their records?

    Thanks for your patience.

    noel4nopun

    (@noel4nopun)

Thank you for your patience and service!, I have confirmed it is indeed in our district, I have updated the plugin and re entered the gps co ordinates as 2M97+M8, Reeders, PA 18360, USA (is the zip and country necessary?)

Thank you for reaching out to Google I have no idea how I would have done that, this is a big clubhouse with a lot of meetings in the area, and I look forward to the day with great anticipation when it is showing up properly in the meeting guide app, I love how it works on the website so thank you so much for your expertise in developing this plugin it is really awesome, too bad mist people will probably just use the meeting guide app…

    (@tech2serve)

    Hey @noel4nopun,

Just to confirm, GSO came back to you and confirmed they have your boundaries set to include Reeders? As was pointed out by @ldigioia, this has been an issue with other districts and outlying cities.

Also, I have not reached out to Google. I’m leaving that to you. Go to their map showing Reeder United Methodist Church and click on “Suggest an edit”.

The last option we may be left to trying is to put the address in as an override, and use Reeders as the city. Check out this entry in our FAQ.

If we still don’t have it, I would like to gain access to your site so I can explore some backend and database data?

OK! I got the official explanation of the process of “conflicting meetings” from the appsupport folks. Below if my latest email chain from them:

    Hi Larry,

Apologies for the late response as I had to confirm information on my end first. And that’s a great question. The way the app is programmed, when a new office joins, they can only list meetings at new addresses. Any meetings the new office has at addresses already registered are skipped by our importer, unless we switch them manually. As you know, we only switch (reassign) meetings if there is a specific data issue (i.e. incorrect address).

Example: say we have District 1 and District 2. District 1 joins Meeting Guide in November, and among their meetings they have three that are at 123 Main St, Anytown, NY, 12345, USA. But, if someone comes along and points out that D and E are missing, then this would be a good reason to switch the registration (reassign the meeting) for this address from District 1 to District 2, because District 2 has a more complete listing.

    District 1
    Meeting A
    Meeting B
    Meeting C

Then District 2 comes along in December and registers, and they list five meetings at 123 Main St, Anytown, NY, 12345, USA.

    District 2
    Meeting A
    Meeting B
    Meeting C
    Meeting D
    Meeting E

In this scenario, after District 2 joined we’d still only have Meetings A, B, and C in the system, because the address is registered to District 1. District 2’s meetings were skipped for this street address. Back to your initial email. I reassigned the meetings from Akron to your office since they were skipped and not showing in the app.

Our team is currently discussing ways to communicate more clearly with participating offices regarding duplicate listings. And, we are exploring options to improve how Meeting Guide’s backend manages the data. I hope this explains everything for you. Once again, apologies for the delayed response. Please let me know if you have additional questions. I’m more than happy to assist.

Thanks! Yes, I am familiar with all the possible reasons except this last one. So – how does a meeting get “registered?” What happens if next week another site, maybe north of us instead of west for example – tells you that they want the same meetings registered to them?

    Plugin Author tech2serve

    (@tech2serve)

    Hi @ldigioia,

That is useful information regarding duplicates. As I’m reading the description, the decision factor is the address of the meeting.

Regarding @noel4nopun’s situation, the issue appears to be that GSO is not reporting (or seeing?) meetings associated with an address currently in Meeting Guide.

If he comes back we’ll troubleshoot further.
