Mega menu causing Dokan theme to not work

  • Hi,

    I was having an issue with my Dokan theme which caused many white screens and basically things not happening (edits, ect). The dokan devs found out it was due to the mega menu plug in

    “Your child theme has some modification and there is a small conflict with the mega-menu plugin. We kept the plugin deactivated. The site seems to run smoothly. Please check and let me know the result.”

    Can anyone help me with this issue? I really wanna use this plug in.. or maybe there’s a similar one that is also free?

    Hi pleazo,

    It could be that your server was simply running out of memory. The more plugins you have installed, the more memory your server will need. Deactivating any plugin will free up some memory (making it appear as if the last deactivated plugin was causing the issue).

    I’m not aware of any issues like this (white screens etc), so please ask the Dokan devs exactly what issue they found and I will take a look.

    There are a few other mega menu plugins on the WordPress plugin directory if you want to try them instead.

    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for your response! Dokan did say the server was taking a long time to load!
    I am a bit new to creating a website, how can I get more memory on my server?

    Hi Pleazo,

    If you are using budget hosting then it could be that your server is simply overloaded and will never work too well. You may find it works better at different times of the day (when the server is under less stress) making the issue appear intermittent.

    Disabling unused plugins will also help, but the real fix would be to use hosting which allocates more resources to your site (which is more cases means spending a little more).
