• Hi there,

I read the other posts about this subject but the solutions given were not working for my setup unfortunately.

I created a menu in oceanwp and folowed your tutorial for a mega menu. I selected the enable mega menu for 3 navigation labels.

All 3 of these labels have 3 koloms with products underneath them.

With elementor i created a header and placed a nav menu widget inside. I selected the menu i created with ocean wp and made sure the mega menu settings are correct and it is selected as main in apperance->menus->menu settings.

I read a post were you said it could be due to the dropdownsettings in the customiser so i set these to 500px which is max i think because if i change this to a higher number it just changes back when i save.

Do you have any other solutions for this problem maybe?

I would realy like a working mega menu.

    Any sugestions?

    Kind regards,

    Dominic

  • Hi,

Megamenu only functions with the main menu(primary). It seems an issue with the header, you are using the widget for the menu.

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for replying!

I am sorry but i find this realy hard to come up with a solution based on you answer ??

Could you explain more practical like:

Delete the header template–>go to appearance menu—>change settings to…

    Something like that?

Would you please do that because i can’t figure this out ??

    Kind regards,

    Dominic

    Hi there,

Ok nevermind i figured it out.

The only way i can use the “free” mega menu option in oceanwp is by not using the header from elementor.

The dirty little secret is then that you can’t make your mega menu sticky like 99% of all websites require.

To make your mega menu sticky you need to buy an ocean wp extension.

I don’t want to add plugins to my website i am trying to remove plugins.

When you keep getting tricked like this and decide to buy every extension you need you end up with a slow site that runs 36 plugins like my last site.

I will have to look for a workaround again i guess…

    Thanks for the help!

    Kind regards,

    Dominic
