I’ve been having a few issues with the megamenu in elements kit.

First issues is currently relative and default positioning doesn’t work.
An example is the customer services button right now, this megamenu should be full screen and using default positioning. I also wanted the other menu items to have default positioning full screen.

The second issue is occasionally (not happening right now) but occasionally the backgrounds on the mega menu items become transparent. I have no idea what causes this either.

I have an instance of lightspeed cache on the site, but no minifi js/ css are set.

I have tried to fill in a support request (twice now i believe) but I’m not receiving any responses.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @connorthomas
    Hope you are doing well.

I have found the ticket that you have created. However, I can understand the problem that you are talking about. By only selecting the position as default will not make the Megamenu full width. You need to select the Megamenu Width as Full Width also. Please check this screenshot for a better understanding.

I have checked your site also and noticed that the Megamenu Width is currently set to Default for other Menu items except for the Customer Service. The megamenu of Customer Service is showing full width(Screenshot). No issue was found with it. If you are not seeing it properly, then kindly clear the caches from your site and then check again.

regarding the other menu items, Please change the width of the other Megamenu to Full Width, hopefully, the problem will be solved right after that.

Regarding the Background issue, sometimes due to caching, styles may not show properly as they should. Will you please disable the caching from your site and then check if the issue is happening or not?

Looking forward to your valuable response and we are always here to help you.

    Best Regards

    Hi there,

I appreciate your response, as well as your email.

You are absolutely correct, some how the customer services button has corrected itself overnight – and I have absolutely no idea how as caching was disabled when I was testing the other day.

To further describe the issue I Was having:

I had all menu items set to Full width with Default position.
The full width was working, however the position was sticking to relative, meaning the mega menu was moving off the right side of the screen.

This matter does seem to be resolved now, but I still am not sure what was causing the issue, it was behaving like the plugin was buggy. I really appreciate your help however.

Do you have any idea as to what could have caused this? Do you see any issues with the way I’ve designed the menu items? So far your plugin seems great, I was just concerned about that issue I was having.

One final question I thought id ask, feel free to answer or not! Right now my header has two menus (The main Menu, and the ‘Customer Services menu’. Is there a way to combine these menus into one menu bar, but still have customer serves show on the far right?

    Kind Regards,
    Connor

    Hi @connorthomas

Thanks for your response. I can understand your concern but I haven’t found any issue with the Megamenu and the way you have designed the Megamenu. Everything is showing fine on your site. You don’t need to worry about it. You can check this video for better understanding.

If you see any issue that is occurring randomly, then it must be happening due to caches stored on your site. Please tweak the settings of the caching plugin and make sure to remove the caches from your site on regular basis. I hope you will not face any problems after that.

Regarding the last query about combining Menus, We haven’t included any control to change the position of a Single Menu item. Since this feature is currently not available, you can request a feature for that. You will find the link to Request a Feature on the USEFUL LINKS section of the plugin Details page. From there, you can add your specific feature requests.

Let me know if there is anything else that you need help with.

    Best Regards
    Prosenjit
