    Hi,

I am sending out membership emails via the built in facility in PMPro.

The problem is that every single email that is sent automatically by the system seems to be going to SPAM by default. Why is this? Even if the member has received an email from me before (manually) when the system is sending emails, they are going to their SPAM folder.

    Please assist and advise.

    Thanks.

  • Hello. The SPAM filtering is controlled by the webmail providers and we really do not have any control over this. However, you could set up SMTP and use something like GMail to send out your emails. GMail would potentially be seen as a trusted email sender, and let your messages through. You can use the WP Mail SMTP plugin to use SMTP with WordPress. You can find it here:

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

What′s confusing is that many of these members have been mailed by me before, and they always receive my emails without problem. It′s only when WordPress are sending the emails automatically that they are going to the members SPAM.

I hear what you are saying about setting up a Gmail account, but why would mails sent by WordPress go to Spam when mails from my email account direct are not going to SPAM. It′s like WordPress is being penalized? Of course, I am using the exact same email address from my email account, and within WordPress installation.

Seems to be a strange situation imo.

    Any way of resolving this?

Seems strange that clients receive the emails direct from my email program, but not when WordPress sends emails automatically (from the same email address).

There could be a number of different things causing this, but it is most likely due to your host, so the issue can vary greatly. A lot of hosts require you to have an email account with the same address registered in your cPanel account (even if it is not used). If that doesn’t work, you should probably contact your webhost if this is an issue with all WordPress emails.

    Thanks,
    Jess

    Marking this as resolved.
