Membership Levels Don’t Actually Work
-
Hi there
I began to set up my blog with various membership levels using PMP. Only certain levels will be able to access certain posts. A Standard Membership will be able to see “x” posts, a Gold Membership will see “y” posts (and “x” posts of course) etc.
I assigned the posts the respective levels by clicking on the options in the box that says “Require Membership”. If it requires Standard Membership (the lowest level), I choose all the boxes so that all levels from Standard upwards can access the post.
When one views the main blog page, one can see under every post (except for the current first one) that only the first paragraph is shown and then it says that one needs a membership to view the post – inviting the user to log in or register. That all works well! Normally the user will click to log in or to register… but if the user simply bypasses that altogether, they can view the post for free in any case!
If one simply clicks on the heading of the post, instead of clicking to log in or register, then one can view the entire post in any case whether one is a member or not. Obviously if one clicks on the main heading it should deliver the same page – asking the user to log in or to register.
Can anybody help me to tell me what I might have done wrong so as to allow users to be able to view all posts even if they are not registered – even though I have set up each post to require a certain level of membership? I would be happy to provide screenshots of various posts if that will help.
Here is an example of just one post with its full URL: https://www.lovingkindness.co/2018/09/02/take-a-breath-guest-post/
This post also requires a Standard Membership, but it will show for anyone even if they are not registered – and even though I have included the “Required Membership” option in the WordPress main panel.
Thanks!
