• I’ve created a membership site that uses Gravity Forms and the User Registration add-on to give members access to bbPress forums. The form allows for a one-time fee or recurring fee, but also allows the user to create their user ID and password before submitting the form.

I’m looking for a way to enable these users to “renew” their membership but I’m not finding a way to do this. And/or remind them that their membership is about to expire. I’m curious of anyone else has done this and can offer me some suggestions.

  • I too would like some thoughts on this. Were you @smithcreate able to figure out a solution?

I still have not found a streamlined solution. My thoughts are that I will need to create a new form where the enter their forum username and account details, then have someone manually match these form submissions against the list of current users. After a set amount of time, and sending reminders to those who do not renew, someone will need to login to the admin side and change their forum settings so they can no longer post. A manual process. I can’t think of any other way.

Here is what I’ve setup… Once a member’s subscription is cancelled the PayPal add-on updates the user’s role to a custom role called “inactive”. When they login with that role the are redirected to a renewal form that has the User Registration add-on change their role back to one of the membership roles.

Still not way to notify them prior to the membership expiring however.
