    The server has memcache enabled
    However the plugin reports that
    Memcached Extension: Disabled
    Redis Extension: Disabled
    Connection Test: Not Available

    Atm we are using default configs – yet no avail.
    Note: This is also the same on other websites hosted on same server.
    But the service is definetly up and running.

  • The check is for the php module memcached which is required to integrate with the memcached service.

    To work with the memcached service you will need to install memcached php module.

    Hi,

    Please be aware, there are 2 modules

    memcache (without D at end) and memcached (with D at end) , they are different thing , don’t mistake them to each other.

    you should create a phpinfo page , to check either memcached module is loaded.

    It is loaded.

    is there any advantage to enabling memcached?

    Problem : we are slightly facing some load by mysql process and would like to work on that.

    memcached will help a bit , but main part is still need to optimize the database, but for that you may need to hire a DBA

    Our host says we need to disable litespeed cache to use memcached

    Can you guys expand on this?

    1. on server side , yes, they can run at same time , but on LSCWP side , you can only choose one of them at same time.

    2. I would say it’s circumstantial, depends on your usage.

    What are the advantages of using one over the other ?

    Same here, but the hosting says that is enabled. I also checked it in PHP selector
