• Experiencing a slight oddity in the SuperCacher plugin on a number of sites recently. Even though Memcached is activated within the site’s CPanel on Siteground, when I go to the plugin screen in WordPress, Memcached remains greyed out and deactivated there. If I try to activate it, I receive the message “Please, first enable Memcached from your cPanel!”

If it’s not activated from the plugin interface but *is* activated from CPanel, does that mean Memcached is working? Any way round this problem?

    Hi,

In order to have the Memcached working with your WordPress application, you need to have it enabled inside the wp-admin panel.

I am part of the senior technical support team at SiteGround – can you please provide me a domain name or a ticket number in our system, so I can investigate the issue and assist you?

    Hello Ivan
I have exactly the same problem of vsimons: even tough activated from cpanel, Memcached remains grayed. I have the latest version of wordpress
    the domain is https://www.leftygardens.com
Do I have to open a ticket? Where?
    Thank you for your time
    C

    Solved by siteground support

They told me:”The memcached process was not properly started on the server so I had to contact our system administrators who have found the cause of this and started it. The issue should not reoccur.”
