Memory Size Error due to Security Ninja

    Hi,
    I have installed Security Ninja from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/security-ninja/ in DEV environment. In DEV, i have activated and its working. After that i deploy the changes into Staging env. In Staging, it throws error in log & as well in dashboard when i try to Activate the plugin. The error is ‘Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 5244624 bytes) in /code/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 3304’

    But when i delete security ninja, there is no error in staging.

    NOTE: I tried Manual install method also. But same error when activate.

    We are using WP 6.0.2 version. Is security ninja compatible with it? Why it is showing the memory error. We want to install it immediately because for security reason.

    So kindly help us with the solutions.

    This error sounds strange, that it occurs in staging, but not in dev. There could be a difference between how the servers are configured? The plugin should not change behaviour between servers.

    Perhaps the issue comes when activating, what about after plugin activated – does the website report fatal error after attempting to load?

    If running out of memory I wonder if there are some 3rd party libraries loaded at the same time. Is it possible for you to raise the limit momentarily to see if that changes anything?

    The plugin should be backwards compatible back to around WP 4.7

    Hi,

    Our server team told that, this memory error will cause if there is any problem with that plugin.
    I hope may be its due to incompatible for WP 6.0.2.

    The reason why it is working in DEV, we can do anything in DEV & then need to deploy our commits/changes/code from DEV to STAGE.. For some problem, the plugin is not activated in Staging.

    I’m running into this same error. With security-ninja v 5.152 ; wordpress v 6.1.1. When I try to activate the plugin it says PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1300234240 bytes exhausted.

    My php.ini memory_limit is set to 1.24G.

    Increasing the memory_limit doesnt help, it will simply keep growing until it hits that limit and then crash with that Fatal error.
