(Edited – Your previous post was not closed – You were caught by the over zealous spam filter. Sorry about that!)

When you have a problem with a premium theme, it’s very hard for the volunteers HERE to help you because we don’t all have access to it. We can’t see the code, it’s behind a paywall, unless you share the code (use pastebin, not posting it here, please and thank you).

And even THEN. It’s considered gauche to do that. After all. You paid these guys for a theme and support. So did you do ALL the recommended steps here: https://themeforest.net/support before posting? Did you search their help, their wiki, submit a ticket etc?

I apologize, but it looks like I’ll have to be a bit gauche. I’ve contacted the developer via Twitter and e-mail, still no response. I would love for the theme to be functional before the weekend, and with no coding experience, I don’t even know where to begin to fix the drop down menu.

    Here is the code:

When you click on appearance menus do you see if the theme supports custom menus.

Thank you for the suggestion. I went to Appearance > Menus, created a test menu and added all of the pages. The appearance changed, but it did not fix the drop-down functionality.

The stock theme functions with a drop-down menu.

Chase – did you ever find a solution to this? I’m having the same problem with a theme and pulling my hair out. Thanks!

Did you check the theme options if there nay setting on there as themeforest has theme options.

Not sure I follow, govpatel… but looking at chase’s earlier post, it looks like he figured it out so if he’s around perhaps I’ll hear back from him. In the meantime I have a ticket in to the theme’s author and we’ll see if I hear back. thanks!

    Hi mtndesigner,

This video will walk you through how to use the new WP 3.0 menu system with Atlantica & Dark Atlantica 1.5.

    Hey Chase –
Thanks for the video, but unfortunately it didn’t address the issue I’m having. I’m working in the “foundation” theme, and it has a similar menu section as they describe in the video, but the problem I’m having is that in that Appearance>Menu section, under “theme locations,” it refuses to save the name of the menu I’ve created under the “main nav” tab, and therefore the dropdown menus don’t work. It will let me select the name of the menu I’ve created and hit save, but when I navigate away and come back, it hasn’t saved the page. This seems to be my dropdown menu problem but I’m at a loss as to how to fix it. Is this anything like the problems you had? Any thoughts would be much appreciated and thanks again. I have a post in to the theme author but have yet to hear back.

Oh, and I should say too… it was working fine when I had it on my server (godaddy)… when I moved it to the client’s server is when the issue with the drop down menus started.

    Mtndesigner,

I truly don’t know. I just couldn’t figure out how to begin creating a custom menu. That’s how the video helped me.

As for your problem, again, I truly don’t know.

    Good luck and apologies,
    Chase

No worries, Chase… I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Best wishes and thanks again!
