    I would like to either keep the top bar nav as is (BUT space in between each tab / heading)

    or,

    Create a primary navigation for the menu where I can make the background blue, font that orange colour or white…

    Please can you assist? Thanks

    first of create a child theme
    then in the .css file add the following code

    sf-menu li {
    margin-left: 30px; /* add the number of space you like */
    }
