• Hello everyone,

    I am having issues with Sydney theme after updating it and installing some elementor addons. The header slider which contained the menu and the logo disappeared. I have been checking tutorials and forums to find the way to solve it (making sure that menu and widget fields and correctly set, deactivating-reactivating plugins to find out which is the trouble maker, etc.) but nothing worked so far.

    The “Sydney Toolbox-custom posts and fields” plugin had to be removed by my hosting server because it gave problems to access to the site. Could that be the point? if so, how could install the plugin without making my site collapse again?

    Thanks beforehand for your help.

  • Hello,

    The header slider which contained the menu and the logo disappeared.

    Can you please disable the Coming Soon mode and leave here a note in order to let me check your header? You can also create a staging site for the troubleshooting purposes, here is a tutorial:

    New Sydney Toolbox plugin version doesn’t work with the old Sydney theme versions. So please make sure that your Sydney theme is updated before installing the latest Sydney Toolbox plugin version.

    Hi,

    thanks for your soon reply. The coming soon mode is disabled now.

    As for the Sydney theme update, it is already updated but the Sydney toolbox plugin is not installed because it made the site collapse.

    thanks for your help!

    Okay, I’m getting the “Oops! That page can’t be found” error on your home page now. And the header looks okay, by the way.

    As for the Sydney theme update, it is already updated but the Sydney toolbox plugin is not installed because it made the site collapse.

    You can install the Sydney Toolbox plugin now, if the Sydney theme is updated.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    That’s right, I have no idea why. I disabled the coming soon mode (easy coming soon plugin) and now the site loads very slow and even the dashboard works very slow. I’ll try to update the Sydney toolbox now to see how happens and I’ll come back to you.

    Thanks!

    Okay, I cannot tell if the site collapses or not because it takes ages to load ??

    It is working very very slow now since I deactivated the easy coming soon plugin (but that doesn’t make any sense, does it?).

    Maybe I am using too many plugins or several conflicting ones?

    Best regards,
    Ines

    Hello Ines,

    Maybe I am using too many plugins or several conflicting ones?

    It’s possible, you can try to deactivate all your plugins except Elementor and see if it helps. However, your website loading time looks good to me.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    I’ve installed Sydney a few times, and I am now trying to convert a site to it.

    All I get are the bouncing balls.

    I’ve put all the images in, etc, but those and the text is not showing up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Andree

    Hi Andree,

    Thank you for contacting us about our theme Sydney. I am happy to help with your queries.

    > All I get are the bouncing balls.

    It happens usually because JavaScript error found on some part of your page. We can find it and suggest the solution once I can inspect your page directly. So I am requesting you sharing your page URL here in your reply to this response.

    At the time being, you can hide the preloader from the beginning by adding the below CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

    .preloader {
      display: none !important;
    }

    Regards,
    Kharis

    Thank you Kharis; it is my own page https://www.andreehurley.com (I started a new career in real estate).

    The menu was also changed so I am trying to get the old menu to re-appear.

    I am using the theme on simple real estate pages such as https://ebbtide200beachplace.andreehurley.com/, although it doesn’t have the slider.

    I first installed at https://www.wwta.org and I get a lot of compliments.

    Thanks in advance,

    Andree
